This tutorial is mainly for Windows. For Linux, MacOS X, FreeBSD, etc. users we recommend using tsocks.
What we need:
- Putty
- A shell account with a capability to use US Proxy.
After we lunch PuTTy: In Connection -> SSH -> Tunnels type a local port in soruce port (The one that proxy will listen to), check Local, and in Destination type:
usproxy:8888
then click Add.
In Session -> Host Name type:
tunel.mydevil.net
and in Port:
443
In Saved Sessions click (Save), so we won't have to go through the configuration process in the future.
Click Open, provide your password and remember not to close PuTTy.
Proxifier
Some apps may require Proxifier (for example, Ipla requires Polish Proxy).
Launch Proxifier, go to Options -> Proxy Settings and click Add. In address type:
127.0.0.1
In port, type the port you provided in PuTTy as source port. In protocol check SOCKS Version 5.
Click OK. We can check if the proxy runs correctly by clicking on our settings and clicking Check.
When we're done, click OK in both windows.
In Options -> Proxification Rules check Process Only the following + manually proxified and uncheck Loopback.
Click Add. In Rule Name type anything, click Add in Applications and point to Ipla (by default it is installed in "C:\Program Files\ipla\ipla.exe"). Don't change any other settings.
Click OK in both windows.
